FixMyNeed operates a trust-first platform connecting customers with verified service providers and material suppliers across Nigeria. This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules and standards expected from all platform participants to ensure safety, accountability, and integrity.
1. Account Verification & Authenticity
All users must provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date account details. To maintain platform safety:
- Providers & Suppliers: Must undergo verification, including identity (NIN/CAC), phone number, and email verification before taking on jobs or listing products.
- Customers: Must maintain verified contact details (phone and email) to ensure seamless job communication and security.
- Impersonation, submitting fraudulent identification documents, or operating multiple accounts to bypass restrictions is strictly prohibited.
2. Platform Payment Model & Off-Platform Prohibition
FixMyNeed operates a secure payment infrastructure designed to protect funds and track job resolution:
- Paystack Integration: Customer payments are processed securely through FixMyNeed using Paystack. Cards and banking credentials are never stored on our servers.
- No User Wallets: FixMyNeed does not operate digital user wallets. All transaction accounting and payout visibility are maintained via secure internal ledger balances.
- Fund Protection & Release: Payments associated with a job are protected until job or supply requirements are fulfilled. Once the customer confirms job completion, funds are automatically allocated and released to the provider, with FixMyNeed's platform commission deducted according to transaction terms.
- Anti-Circumvention Rule: Attempting to solicit or accept direct off-platform payments, cash bypass, or off-platform transactions to avoid platform fees or escrow protection is strictly forbidden and results in immediate account termination.
3. Job Management, Cancellations & Disputes
Users must adhere to the structured job lifecycle:
- Cancellations: Customers may cancel a job before the provider starts work or commences service. Post-commencement cancellations are subject to review under our resolution criteria.
- Disputes: If a job or material order is incomplete, defective, or materially non-compliant, customers may raise a dispute within the applicable 6 to 24-hour transaction window.
- Refunds: Full or partial refunds are determined based on empirical evidence (photos, messages, milestone tracking) submitted during the dispute resolution process.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in any of the following activities on FixMyNeed:
- Harassment, abusive language, discrimination, or intimidation against any user, customer, or provider.
- Submitting fake job requests, spamming, or manipulating ratings and reviews.
- Executing illegal, hazardous, or unauthorized services without required statutory licenses or safety measures.
- Interfering with platform infrastructure, attempting to access unauthorized databases, or reverse-engineering platform tools.
5. Enforcement & Penalties
FixMyNeed actively monitors compliance to protect all users. Violation of this policy may result in:
- Formal warnings or temporary restriction of service requests.
- Suspension of payout release during active dispute investigations.
- Permanent account termination and forfeiture of unearned platform privileges.
- Reporting of criminal or fraudulent behavior to relevant Nigerian law enforcement agencies.
